You both are so awesome! Thank you for taking my question! Your answer and comments I feel are so similar to my experience with learning about wine. Just being around that community and visiting restaurants with nice local wines (#spoiledcalifornian) opened up my culinary palate in ways I never imagined which baffles my parents to no end. I appreciated the discussion on society and information, that could be a whole separate podcast! I do have to say that I am pretty jealous of the selections of beers you’re able to find in bottle shops in LA. I have a couple friends up here who introduced me to makgeolli and we have it at every one of our get-togethers, which also baffles the local Korean market owners that we even know about it. So now I want to find that Makku and try it and have them all try it too!
When going to bottleshops where you have a selection of non-local beers to pick from, how do you pick new beers to try?

Thanks Matt! We loved your question, and it gave us an opportunity to talk about food, which we also love. We occasionally visit the Central Coast for wine tasting but still have a lot to learn! We had never seen Makku until recently, and it looks like they are still limited to NY & LA, but they’re relatively new so hopefully they grow their distribution. As far as bottle shops, we loved The Good Hop in Oakland, but I’m sure there are others. We actually answered a similar question regarding picking new beers to try on our latest Episode (Ep.5) , so check it out!
