Episode 5: Drinking in LA aka Dank Local

This ‘tallboy’ of an episode is Drink Local’s hoppiest yet! We broke down what it’s like to drink in LA while sipping on some hoppy brews from some of our favorite LA mainstays! The ABV was high and we got a little belligerent! In ‘What Made You Wanna Drink?’ we lamented the cancellation of Snow Monkey Beer Live and poured some out for the beer joints we’ve lost. We also answered ‘Questions From The Beer Curious’.

    This episode was super informative about the beer scene in LA. I took a bunch of notes for your recommended places in the different areas so I’m excited to check them out! All the talk in the beginning of the episode about “hazy” and “juicy” IPAs made me wonder what your thoughts on Beermosas are. I was recently introduced to the idea and a friend of mine and I have made our own mostly using already citrus-y lighter beers. Drakes in Oakland had one we ordered during brunch one weekend and that was good, but we’ve found not all beers work for Beermosas which I thought was interesting. Looking forward to ep6, I’ve fallen behind!

      We finally did an actual local podcast and we’re glad it was informative! There’s definitely a lot more places we didn’t get to talk about, as well as spots we need to check out. We haven’t tried any Beermosas but it sounds like it could work with a good selection of beer… I have enjoyed Radlers on occasion and also Micheladas. We might have to talk about beer cocktails at some point! As always, we appreciate your comments!!
